Pisadeira

"Resting for the night on a full stomach is my invitation. If you are lucky enough to survive my strangle's grasp, I will surely be back for more."

Spirit derives from Brazilian folklore, mainly São Paulo and part of Minas Gerais.

Pisadeira is a demon woman who steps on people's full stomachs and left them with shortness of breath, which usually does so during the night.

Her victims are typically those who have just had a really large meal and are in a dozy state. Pisadeira, who stalks about on roofs and in roof cavities, will stalk and wait as the person will be in a deep sleep that night and most importantly will likely be sleeping belly up.

This legend can be associated with sleep paralysis. For example, researchers from Brazil recently when through a variety of sources to collect information on how sleep paralysis is represented in traditional Brazilian folklore.
