Dive for Treasure
Qiandao Lake, or the lake of a thousand islands, is home to a watery treasure. In 1959, the Chinese government completed a dam that flooded the area, creating the lake. At the foot of Five Lions Mountain is 2,000-year-old Lion City. The deep waters have preserved the city even to the woodwork and intricate carvings and statuary. Perhaps Gonggong, the red-haired dragon responsible for great floods has taken up residence in the ancient city.
